Faculty of Clinical Informatics partners with BMJ Health and Care Informatics as its official Journal

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is delighted to announce the BMJ Health and Care Informatics (BMJ HCI) as its official Journal.

Applications for Membership and Fellowship of the Faculty are now open!

Since being established, the Faculty has now grown to a membership of 542 Members, Fellows and Associates. Due to continued interest from potential members, the Faculty has decided to again open up for applications!

Videos published for first UK workshop on Mobilising Computable Biomedical Knowledge

On 29th October, the Faculty of Clinical Informatics helped to run the UK's first workshop on mobilising computable biomedical knowledge (MCBK), which was organised alongside the BCS, NICE, HL7 UK and The Learning Healthcare Project. Speakers were filmed on the day and the videos of these talks are now published and available to watch.

Newcastle University’s Health Informatics Course is the first to be CPD Accredited by the FCI

Alongside Health Education England North East and North Cumbria, Newcastle University and the Institute of Coding have co-developed a brand new course offering an introduction to health informatics. This is the first course to be CPD accredited by the Faculty of Clinical Informatics.

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics holds its first Annual Members Conference, bringing together clinical informatics professionals from across the UK

On Monday 25th November, the Faculty of Clinical Informatics first Annual Members Conference took place to a packed audience at the State Rooms in the RCGP, London. The conference was the first Faculty event to take place since the Founding Fellows AGM in 2017, and was attended by around 140 Faculty members.

Volunteers Needed for FCI Informal Professional Mentorship Scheme

We are seeking volunteers to act as mentors in an informal professional mentorship scheme which is being established by the Faculty.

We are thrilled to announce that, as of the 16th September 2019, the Faculty of Clinical Informatics is a registered charity as granted by the Charity Commission and therefore a fully independent organisation.

Development of the Special Interest Group (SIG) on artificial intelligence is well underway, with the first meeting of the group set to take place on 4th December.
