The Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI) is being established as the professional membership body for all clinical informaticians across the UK, to support and nurture both existing and potential future clinical informaticians and to encourage a culture of striving for high quality and standards.
The Faculty elected its first Council in June 2018 and is in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The Faculty is currently hosted by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). As such, the post is being advertised on a one-year fixed term basis, however, the intention is that the post will become permanent once the Faculty becomes a legal entity in its own right.
The Business Manager will lead the organisational development of the FCI, working with Trustees, Council, Standing Committees and the Executive Board to develop and implement organisational strategy and business plans, and manage the overall business and day-to-day running of the FCI. There is currently one other member of staff (the Communications and Membership Officer) who is line-managed by the Business Manager.
The successful candidate will be innovative and highly motivated to lead the development of a new organisation and have experience in: leading and managing organisations or departments of organisations, income generation and service development, project management, budget management and contract management.
The role will be based in London but there is significant flexibility for home working.
