April saw the Faculty open a second application round for further Fellows to join our existing cohort and count themselves amongst the first ever members of the UK’s only organisation representing clinical informaticians in health and social care.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Paul Campbell was nominated and appointed as Honorary Secretary of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics during the first Faculty Council Meeting.
The Shadow Board of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics has handed over responsibility to the recently elected Council and Officers during a historic meeting held at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
Business Manager, Kevin Hunt, drew a sizable crowd during the lunchtime session at eHealth Week, when he delivered an update on recent progress and future plans for the Faculty. He was accompanied by Jonathan Kay (Vice Chair) and Nick Booth (Hon. Treasurer) in answering questions.
Faculty of Clinical Informatics’ Chair, John Williams, has been awarded the prestigious Foundation Council Award at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Annual Spring General Meeting in recognition of his pioneering work in Clinical Informatics.
Following a hugely successful initial recruitment of Founding Fellows during 2017, we enlisted over double the expected opening total. As of May 2018, we will have elected the first Council and Officers of the Faculty; this milestone in our development means that we are once again open to applications for the next round of Fellows to join our growing membership cohort.
